The Canadian Association for the Study of Adult Education (CASAE/ACÉÉA) and the Adult Education Research Conference (AERC) are excited to welcome you to UBC, Vancouver for the 2026 Joint Conference, themed “Crossing Borders, Building Bridges: Adult Education in Times of Transformation.” Please contact casaeaerc2026@gmail.com with any questions

Program

The conference will begin May 27^th with preconferences taking place during the day with the conference opening session and social starting around 4.30pm and the conference ending early-mid afternoon on May 30th. All presentations (i.e., papers, symposia, alternative sessions, and roundtables) will take place concurrently, with the exception of poster presentations which will (probably) take place during lunch time of either May 28^th or May 29^th. Concurrent sessions will take place May 28 and 29th ~between 9-5pm (with breaks over lunch, in between sessions); and May 30^th, approximately 9-2pm. More information to come.

Accommodation on campus

The one-bedroom suites accommodate are ideal for two people who want separate beds (sofa bed & king); the studio apartments have a Queen bed so are good for couples if you are bringing your partner! The budget rooms are actually really nice—you will get a private room and I think there are two bathrooms for a total of 4 bedrooms, and are a fantastic option for students where you will save money and meet one another. Note that there are ~20 single premium rooms left which are only $72 p/night. Please contact me if you find there are no more 1-bedroom or suites left—we can likely add them to our block; however, we are unable to add more of the shared accommodation options.

Note that a CASAE yearly membership (from May 2026-May 2027) is required as it has been in recent years of all attendees (there will be a $35 CAD discount (~$20 USD) applied to all AAACE members in keeping with past AERC conferences). Please note that the early bird deadline will be extended to April 27^th.
