INVITATION TO PRESENT PAPERS

This year's conference theme is:

Adult Education Research: Shaping the Future.

The following are some of the topics that might be suggested by our conference theme:


  • redefining the discipline of adult education
  • barriers to virtual learning
  • global and analytical ways of processing information
  • the importance of historical research
  • directions for peace and environmental education
  • the new learning strategies and learning styles
  • expanding the potential of distance education
  • learning networks
  • emerging reflection and action techniques
  • ethics for the next millemium
  • professional development theory
  • the role of action research in creating new knowledge

  • Abstract submissions are open to members of CASAE/ACEEA, CAUCE, CSSE, CCA and other interested in adult education. Innovative presentation formats that encourage participant interaction are especially welcome.


    Important Dates



    JANUARY 16, 1998 (Revised Date)

    Deadline for receipt of abstracts (No fax transmissions).

    February 20, 1998 (Revised Date)

    Notification of acceptance of abstracts with specifications for the final paper to be given on or by this date.

    APRIL 17, 1998

    Deadline for receipt of accepted papers for inclusion in Conference Proceedings.


    GUIDELINES:

    1. Submit one copy of a typed cover paper which includes the paper title; name(s) of presenters; name of the contact person (in the case of group presentations); address, phone number and, if possible, fax number of the presenter/contact person.

    2. Submit THREE copies of a typed, one-page abstract not exceeding 250 words. Allow a 1" margin, and include the title at the top of the page (please — no author or institutional affiliation in the abstract). The abstract should adequately describe the presentation topic, the perspective or theoretical framework taken, relevant research methods, conclusions, and significance to the field.

    3. The program committee will select abstracts based on criteria of academic quality, innovative merit, relevance and relative importance of the subject addressed.

    4. If your paper is selected for presentation, you will be responsible for submitting a formally written six-page (single-spaced typed) paper for inclusion in the Conference Proceedings. Authors whose papers are accepted will be notified of the specifications for preparing and submitting papers.
